Textual analysis- Means Girls

Textual analysis - mean girls (2004)

There are many stereotypes characters in mean girls and they are clearly made in the films, the dinner table have different tables for social groups, this means lots of different people can relate to the film not just one group. Another way the writer of the film shows the different group are costumes and hobbies for example the geeks goes to math class after school this shows the personality of the characters without showing much of them.

The main characters are pretty and thin this is seen in other films. The popular girls seem to wear revelling clothes and likes to wear the colour pink. Pink usually symbolizes health and good feelings. It is a traditionally a feminine colour, and some feel that it connotes love. Pink is soft and fuzzy, like girls!
The main stock setting is set in a high school and this is quite popular with teen romance films this is because the audience will  be able to relate to the film as they spend quite a bit of there time in high school and they will know how the characters are feeling with it comes to relationship with peer or boyfriends. There are other setting in the in the film that the audience can relate to like house parties and shopping centre all these setting are well known for teenagers.
